Kayla Steele
Kayla Steele - Maid of Honor
Hey! I'm Kayla—one of Jill's best friends, biggest cheerleaders, and proud maid of honor. We met working together quite a few years ago and quickly became each other’s go-to person for venting, crying, laughing, and surviving the daily grind. When I'm not confirming Jillian's wedding choices (with the appropriate level of enthusiasm), you can usually find me watching a good murder documentary, chasing down a spontaneous cold beer, or never turning down a good puppy snuggle. Being part of this day truly means a lot to me. I've had a front-row seat to Jillian and Rob building something really special—traveling the world, figuring out life together, and creating what I can only describe as a world-class love. I can't wait to celebrate with you all. I'll be the one dabbing my eyes (definitely not crying), keeping the vibes fun, and making sure the rum and Cokes keep coming. Cheers to an unforgettable celebration!
Ian MacQueen
Ian MacQueen - Best Man
I’m Ian, little brother of the groom. I’m kind of a mix between Dory from Finding Nemo and Pope Cody from Animal Kingdom—a whole lot of forgetful with just a touch of crazy. You’ll most likely find me somewhere swinging a hammer on a construction site. I was Rob’s voice for the first 15 years of his life. I did all the talking while he did all the thinking. Honestly, it’s still a pretty similar situation today. If you don’t like a chatterbox, you’d best bring earplugs—fair warning. Rob has been my best friend for all 28 years I’ve been here. From pulling me out of countless dirt bike accidents to providing tech support and everything in between, he’s always been there to clean up some form of destruction I’ve left in my wake. Rob is the whole package. I’ve had a bird’s-eye view of watching Rob and Jill unfold the chapters of their lives together, and I’m excited to see what else they have in store for us in the future. From countless nights on the Mira and in the Bay, I’ve been lucky to share a lot of memories with Rob. Tonight, I want to take full advantage of this opportunity to celebrate the love and unity of two wonderful people. Cheers, y’all!
Katy Roach
Katy Roach - Bridesmaid
Hey howdy it's Katy here. I like artsy stuff, sandwiches, board games, camping and having a silly goose time. I have two beautiful baby girls and a fiance I actually met through Jill and Zack in 2015. Jill is one of my very best friends and also my coworker at 45Drives/Protocase! I guess I'll start at the beginning... Jill crashed into my life in typical Jill fashion at a house party in 2014 just after I moved to Cape Breton. I didn't really know anyone there more than a few weeks and am naturally introverted so was keeping it lowkey. She came in, found the chair beside mine and first thing she said to me was that she wanted my eyebrows and that she was sorry she probably smelled like burgers. Turns out it was because she had just finished her shift at Tasty Treat, the ice cream joint my family owned for generations. That broke the ice and in the crazy night that followed, as well as the 11 plus years since, we have collected countless memories. Whether it be Ingonish camping trips every summer, slinging cones to slinging contracts, scream singing 2000s punk or country anthems in various living rooms or garages we found ourselves in, sharing Mcdoubles and Moscato over jackbox/board games or marathons of The Office. From crying over broken hearts to cry-laughing until our faces hurt riffing over the embarassing or hilarious circumstances we were in (Brutus' music video and "PASS IT THROUGH THE HATCH!" live rent free in my head) We have had eachother from self destructive spirals in our early twenties to growing up and into our potential together, being there for milestones, getting engaged to our future husbands and thriving as a dream team in HR at Protocase/45Drives where our strengths work in a perfect complement to one another. Jill is the most passionate, generous, free spirited, thoughtful person you could meet. She is a better friend than this world deserves. In the 5 years since Mr. slow-mo finger-guns (like in a rom-com you guys) walked into her life she has absolutely flourished. With him she can be her truest, happiest, and most authentic self. For that and many more reasons I not only love Jill but now Rob too with my whole heart. Together they are unstoppable, the true dream team. Witnessing their love story unfold has been a privilege as it's the kind of love everyone wants for their friend. It is an absolute honor to have been asked to stand with Jill for this incredible milestone next summer and I cannot wait to be with her as she marries her best friend and the love of her life. This wedding is going to be a momentous occasion and based on all of Jill's amazing ideas she's been sending us, it will be unlike any other - just like our Jilly. I can't wait to celebrate Jill and Rob and dance the night away!!!!

Brett Kelly - Groomsman
Hi, I'm Brett I've known Rob for more than a decade now, and proud to say he was my first friend on Cape Breton Island. I am from Dartmouth originally but am happy to call CB my forever home now. I love playing sports of all kinds, particularly hockey and golf. But nothing beats a good ol' rain day inside playing video games. But enough about me... I'll never forget the first day Rob and I met, I was up interviewing at 45drives and remember thinking me and this guy are going to get along - he's one of the reasons I knew I wanted to be on the team. Since then we have been through a lot together, some lows but way more highs - both in work and in life. I am honored to have worked beside the guy for the past 10 years, honored to call him one of my best friends and even more honored to be apart of his and Jill's big day. I've gotten to know Jill pretty well over the last few years as well and as everyone who is reading this knows, Jill brings pure joy into everyone's lives and I value our friendship greatly. I remember the day when I realized he and Jill had something special going on. It was a Friday, I couldn't figure out why he was so insistent on staying so late at work on a summer evening. He kept telling me he had something to finish, then I saw Jill walking up to the door and I knew. From that moment on these two have been inseparable and I have seen first hand the happiness she brings him. Cant wait to celebrate with everyone on the big day. Cheers to Rob and Jill.

Amy Buckingham - Bridesmaid
Hey – I'm Amy! I'm incredibly blessed to say that Jillian and I have been best friends since the day we were born. We've shared every milestone, every laugh, and even a few tears along the way. I couldn’t imagine her wedding day without standing by her side. A little about me – I’m happiest when I’m surrounded by nature, whether it’s hiking through the trails, spending a sunny afternoon on the beach, or breathing in the salty ocean air. I love to sing and play guitar, crochet on a quiet evening, and spend lazy Sundays with my fiancé Jordan and our two beautiful children, Rylee and Ben, who are my greatest joy. I’m also incredibly proud of my work with Marine Atlantic – it’s more than just a job, it’s my passion! Today, though, my heart is with my best friend. I’m so grateful to be part of this special moment in her life – to celebrate the love she’s found and to stand beside her as she begins this beautiful new chapter. Here’s to a lifetime of happiness for you, my soul sister since day one.

Josh Harris - Groomsman
Hey, I'm Josh! Rob and I have been friends for nearly twenty years, from hanging on for dear life behind the “river rat” to late-night campfires during cottage season—what started as the occasional summer run-in with him and Ian has turned into one of my closest friendships. If you’d told us back then we’d be standing in each other’s weddings, we would’ve laughed, but looking back now it feels inevitable. These days we even work together at 45Drives, where I’ve watched the same guy who once, without a doubt tried to send his brother ashore on a set of water skis, tackle every stage of life like a pro. Somewhere along the way through work and Rob I’ve had the please of getting to know Jilly! Jill started popping by Rob’s office so often I thought we must be firing a lot of people—turns out, they were just falling in love. Over the years she’s become one of my go-to pals, whether it’s work decisions, life advice, or just keeping me grounded, and she has a way of always making you feel heard. Between road trips to PEI with my now wife, and Christmas dinner shows in da Bay bi, I’ve had the best seat in the house watching these two build something incredible together, and I couldn’t be happier to celebrate them on their big day.
Zachary Linden
Zachary Linden - BridesMAN
Im Zach! I've known Jill for the more than a decade now, and we've had many an adventure over the years. From camping to donkey Kong country, crowded around a dining room table, or the occasional road trip (luckily with Jill not driving). A bit about myself. When I'm not occupied with multiple monitors, I try to take advantage of the sunny days by getting outside, wether it be a long trip to the patio or a short trip to the beach. I love trying to cook new recipes for family and friends. And I'll never turn down a cold beer lol. I was pumped when Jill asked me to be apart of her and Robs day, and im excited for them to move into the next chapter!
Dylan Tobin
Dylan Tobin - Groomsman
Hey, I'm Dylan - Rob and I go way back to the early days at CBU when we were working on our Electronics and Controls degrees. We met on our very first day of class and instantly hit it off. We became the lab and study partners everyone wanted to team up with because we knew our stuff, we stepped up as leaders in the class, and we always found a way to make studying and learning fun. Our friendship grew even stronger when I got hired at 45Drives and started officially working alongside Rob. I’m known to push his buttons—and he pushes mine—but no matter what, we always find a way to get through challenges together and remain friends outside of work. From Sydney and Glace Bay to California and New York, we’ve been through a lot together. We share countless core memories with friends and family, and we definitely have a few stories that will stay just between the two of us. I can’t wait to celebrate your big day with you! —Dylan
